Mixing it up with paint!
Updated: Mar 29, 2020
First off, I gave this little hutch a fair chance with it's original finish. It has been in my shop for more than 6 months, with no bites. So it was time to take it home and paint! Here's what it looked like before my refinish.

While nothing is wrong with it, I think it was just a little outdated, maybe the mahogany finish was a turn off for most? 🤷♀️ If you've been to my shop you know I paint just about everything white. However, I'm craving color and a new look, so I decided to try something different from my norm. Maybe it's the Spring vibes I'm getting?!?
I chose this lovely dark teal, from Country Chic Paints in the color "Jitterbug". It's a gorgeous on-trend, jewel tone, and a perfect color to incorporate in modern farmhouse or bohemian decor.

I love this paint, there's little to no prep, it's mineral based, environmental friendly and they have over 55 colors to choose from! Not to mention, there's several specialty products to accompany their paint line.

You can order online through Country Chic by visiting their website at www.countrychicpaint.com or by stopping by my local shop, located inside Kings Antiques And More.

After giving the piece a quick cleaning, I was off to painting. It's really that simple, two quick coats and I was done. I finished off with their clear wax and buffed to shine.
After she was all finished, I got started on decorating her. This has to be hands down the most fun part for me. I love to decorate and to see my vision come together is just amazing in my book! ❤
Doesn't this color look just lovely, paired with gold, wood and whites?
So tell me do you love this color? Have you tried Country Chic Paints and if so what's your favorite color? I encourage you to try them if you haven't already, plus there's nothing better from the sense of accomplishment you get from finishing a project.
Happy painting!
